A fruit plant hardiness zone guide is a practical starting point for building a planting that survives winter and earns its space at harvest. Blueberries, honeyberries, currants, and gooseberries

Blueberries vary widely by type. Northern highbush blueberries are often the right fit for colder regions, commonly Zones 3 or 4 through 7, and need acidic soil to perform. Southern highbush and rabbiteye blueberries are better suited to warmer regions, often Zones 7 through 9 or beyond. Soil pH is not a secondary detail with blueberries. Grapes and muscadines

In colder zones, figs can still be grown in containers, moved into protected storage, or heavily protected in-ground. That approach can work for a home gardener, but it adds annual labor and is usually less practical for larger plantings.
